Tulsa, Oklahoma’s
Upside wasted no time after formation
in 2001. They quickly cut out of Oklahoma
and hit the road around the region,
busting their chops opening for more
established acts like Jibe, the Feds,
Cave In, and The Exies. Their 2003
release, “Scope and History,”
is stocked full of the quartet’s
fiery brand of furious yet calculated
and melodic rock and was released
in August and produced by burgeoning
rock knob twirler Eric Delegard, whose
recent work with Jibe, Element Eighty,
and Bowling for Soup, among others,
has led to major label and booking
deals as well as Grammy nominations.
Upside is promoting “Scope and
History” with an intensive regional
tour and a few dates in some new national
markets with artists such as Eve 6
and Pomeroy sharing the stage. Their
single, “Dirty Hands,”
is being added to commercial radio
across the Midwest.
